About Mina

Meet the Designer

Mina was created by Tami MacDonald. Fashion is who I am… at the age of 10 I started watching Fashion Television and sketching my own designs. Since then every step I took was to further my passion for designing.  I love the idea of giving a greater number of brides the opportunity to create something unique and special to themselves.

Passionate Purpose

I have worked in bridal for two decades, doing everything from alterations to custom one-of-a-kind gowns. Being able to give a bride something unique and personal is a true joy, which is why this line is so important to me.

Low Waste

mina is a low waste line, only cutting when an order is placed and not mass manufacturing pieces. Every piece is cut singly which allows for mindful cutting and waste management of off cut fabric.

What mina means

mina is the Ndebele word for me. Ndebele is one of the two native languages of Zimbabwe. I spent only a short time in Zimbabwe teaching sewing at ORAP’s Siganda Vocational Training Center but it is still near and dear to my heart. I want every woman who wears a mina gown to feel like they are contributing to the social, economic, and skills development of the Zimbabwean youth. 5% of all proceeds will be going to help youth gain sewing skills through the Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress Zimbabwe Africa.
